SEA Games 2015: Table tennis pair grabs Vietnam’s first medal

Team Vietnam grabbed its first medal in the 28th SEA Games tournament, taking bronze from table tennis in the men’s doubles event on June 2.

Vietnamese duo Tuan Quynh and Anh Tulost 0-4 to Singapore’s Gao Ning and Li Hu in the semi-final match,losing the ticket to the finals but winning the first medal for Vietnamat the games.

The table tennis team set a targetfor one gold and three bronze this year to match their winnings in the2013 SEA Games.

Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Ngaoutlasted Douanggpanya Seangdavieng of Laos and her teammate Mai HoangMy Trang beat Filipino Balatbat Sendrina in the women’s singles eventsof the Table A and Table B, respectively.

On theday prior, Vietnamese pair Quang Linh and Van Nam fell 2-3 to Thai duoTanviriyavechakul and Udomsilp in the other men’s doubles match aftercoasting to a 3-0 win over Kongphet and Phathaphone of Laos.

In the women’s doubles event, Vietnam’s duo My Trang and Tuong Giang were defeated 0-3 by a Thai pair.-VNA
