The scam situation in Singapore has worsened, with the number of cases rising 16.3% to 26,587, and victims losing a record high of over 385.6 million SGD (294.79 million USD) in the first six months of this year.

Singapore's police have reported that victims lost at least 36 million USD in less than two months to conmen touting investment scams on chat groups and social media platforms.

The Philippines’ immigration bureau on May 15 announced that it had deported 165 Chinese citizens who were accused of working in an online scam centre based in Bamban in the north of the country.
