Hanoi (VNA)🦄 – Miss Grand International 2022 Doan Thien An and Miss Vietnam 2020 Do Thi Ha recently took a memorable trip with the "Student with the homeland’s seas and islands" cruise 2023 in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago. The beauty contestant winners returned with tears of joy and pride.

Taking part in the voyage to the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, Doan Thien An and Do Thi Ha said they wished that this trip could inspire love for the homeland and a sense of sovereignty for the sea and islands in the public eye, especially for today’s youth.

Drops of sweat after the word "peace"

Having the opportunity to go to many places and visit many other beautiful countries, An said she will never have the same precious experiences and memories as with Truong Sa, even in the future if she has the opportunity to take this voyage again.  “Returning from a remote island, I think I have taken a huge step to maturity. Listening to stories, seeing sweat drops, feeling the enthusiasm of the soldiers at the head of the storm for the peace of the country, I felt that the difficulties I had experienced suddenly lightened. Because in a place where there is no phone signal but only waves like this, there are always hearts burning with love towards defending the homeland," Thien An said.

An said she will never forget the moment she left the big ship. "At that moment, I cried. There were so many things that I still couldn't do, couldn't give them all, even though I didn't know if I had another opportunity to come to Truong Sa," said the beauty contestant. For Miss Grand International 2022, the KN-290 cruise will remain in her heart forever. The meals filled with laughter, people from strangers quickly become familiar and love each other with all their heart.

The island is home, the sea is the homeland

Miss Vietnam Do Thi Ha said she clearly felt her growth during her seven days in Truong Sa. In the journey to Truong Sa, she received so much in return. It was a heart full of fire, the laughter of happiness, the tears of pride for the homeland seas and islands. Ha never thought she would receive so many experiences in one trip in her life. In the days at sea, without phone signal and social networks, left with only the sincere conversations with soldiers, Ha said she found herself crying so quickly, but in return she felt that she had to work hard to deserve the silent sacrifices of the soldiers here.  “During my time in Truong Sa, every moment was so precious. It was the time to say goodbye to the Truong Sa Lon (Big Spratly). When all of the ship members chanted 'Goodbye Truong Sa', the soldiers replied 'Spratly for the Fatherland.' It was a morning full of pride at the DK1 platform. Life jackets were worn, the lyrics were ready, but because of the unfavorable weather conditions, the whole crew had to send their lyrics, songs, and dances to the soldiers from the deck via walkie-talkies and loudspeakers.”

🎐 Indian writer captivated by Vietnam’s Cham culture

Taking a journey to the Cham Museum — the modest building in Phan Rang –Thap Cham, Indian writer Ankita Mahabir said that the museum might not boast size but it brims with pride for the local community, featuring carefully preserved sandstone sculptures, portraits, and rare artifacts.

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
