Run for wild animals held in Hanoi

Over 600 people attended the “Run for Wildlife 2016” held in Hanoi on December 11 by the Hanoi Red River Runners and the Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV).

Hanoi (VNA) – Over 600 people attended the “Race for Wildlife2016” held in Hanoi on December 11 by the Hanoi Red River Runners and theEducation for Nature Vietnam (ENV).

The event shows the participants’ support and determination to prevent the extinctionof wild animals and encourage community not to use oriental medicine with ingredientsfrom endangered animals.

The racefeatured distances of 5km, 10km and 21km for runners, including children andprofessional athletes.

Teams from Embassiesin Hanoi, such as the United Kingdom, France, the United States, the EuropeanUnion Delegation in Vietnam and other organisations also participated in theevent.

Richard Leech from the Hanoi Red River Runners club said participants have notonly a chance to join their favourite sport but also contribute to protectingendangered animals.

He expressed his hope that the message of the race will be the motivation foraction to protect the wildlife.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
