RoK’s group eyes eco-friendly energy market in Vietnam

Seoul (VNA)𓄧 – The Republic of Korea’s DoosanGroup said it is eyeing to expand eco-friendly energy investment in Vietnamas one of the future strategies that it is aiming at the potential clean energymarket in the Southeast Asian country.
Doosan Enerbility company has signed agreementswith three companies operating thermal power plants in Vietnam to promote an environmentallyfriendly fuel conversion project. The signing ceremony was held within theframe work of the just-concluded state visit to Vietnam by the RoK’s President Suk Yeol. The RoK’s firm and Nghi Son 2 Power Limited LiabilityCompany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on energy collaborationto research the application of carbon reduction solutions in electricityproduction, coal consumption, and greenhouse gas emission. The Vietnamese government has been accelerating thetransition to eco-friendly fuels with a plan to reach net zero carbon emissionsby 2050. In 2020, coal accounted for about 30% of power plants' capacity in Vietnam. The sector is considered tohave a great potential in the future transition to clean energy./.
Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemicals LLC (NSRP) in the Nghi Son Economic Zone in the central province of Thanh Hoa has successfully loaded two shipments of gasoline and middle distillate to the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group's Nghi Son Refinery Distribution Branch (PVNDB) in accordance with the off-take agreement signed between the two sides since 2013.
