RoK helps Vietnamese enterprises innovate

Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ho Chi Minh City received eco-innovation consulting services at a workshop in the southern hub on May 30.

The function, organised by the Ministryof Science and Technology and the Nemo Innovation Consulting Groupfrom the Republic of Korea (RoK), is part of the Asia-EuropeMeeting’s Eco-Innovation Consulting Project for SMEs (ASEIC).

Vietnamese and RoK speakers highlighted the role of science andtechnology in the development of SMEs and presented measures promotingproductivity, product and service quality, and the competitiveness ofbusinesses.

Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh said the ministry isimplementing a programme raising the productivity and quality ofVietnamese goods.

He added that the sharing of experience fromother countries is crucial to the innovation of Vietnamese enterprises,and good results have been reaped from science-technology cooperationprojects between Vietnam and the RoK.

The ASEIC project aimsto help SMEs improve their performance through enhancing productivity,cutting costs and energy consumption and minimising any negative impacton the environment.

At the workshop, the ministry, Nemo and theRoK’s Small and Medium Business Administration signed a memorandum ofunderstanding on supporting Vietnamese SMEs’ eco-innovation.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
