RoK-funded vocational school opens in Phu Quoc

The Vietnam–Republic of Korea Vocational School was inaugurated in Phu Quoc island district in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on October 27.

Kien Giang (VNA) – The Vietnam–Republic of Korea Vocational School wasinaugurated in Phu Quoc island district in the Mekong Delta province of KienGiang on October 27.

Covering over eighthectares in Han Ninh commune, the school started its work in January 2016 witha total cost of more than 233 billion VND (10.26 million USD), of which 10million USD was funded by the RoK-based Teakwang Group and the rest wascontributed by the provincial budget and other sources.

It consists ofthree 3-storey buildings used as practice sections, classrooms, offices, anddormitories.

The school willenroll 207 students for the 2017 - 2018 academic year, majoring in tour guide,receptionist skills, restaurant services, and hotel management.

The school alsooffers short-term courses on basic skills for office secretaries, makeupartists, and designers.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
