International cooperation in the field of water resources is crucial, especially in the face of climate change, increasing water demand, and growing water pollution. Vietnam receives about 60% of its water from cross-border sources.

Head of Indonesia’s National Disaster Mitigation Agency Doni Monardo has said that 98 percent of rivers in the country have been polluted, especially in major cities.

The Vietnam Rivers Network (VRN) and the club of former National Assembly deputies held a seminar in Hanoi on May 16 to look into the status quo of pollution on Vietnam’s rivers and seek solutions to the issue.

Foreign and Vietnamese lecturers and postgraduates will conduct research about landslides, river pollution, climate-change adaptation, transnational marriages and Khmer migration as part of the Summer School & Field Trip 2019 from March 18-31 in the Mekong Delta.
