Restoration, upgrade prepare for Hung Kings temple festival

Phu Tho (VNA) – The management board of the relic site 𝔉Hung Kings🍌 Temple in the northern province of Phu Tho is accelerating preparations for the 2017 Hung Kings Temple festival.
Luu Quang Huy, Director of the relic site, said the board has stepped up the restoration and upgrade of Gieng Rong (Dragon well), a reception area and revamped the temple gate.
The site is continuing with two projects on infrastructure for the Mau lake and the third stage of the festival’s centre from October 2016 until 2020.
Since 2009, the relic site has invested more than 1 trillion VND (45.4 million USD), sourced from government funds and philanthropists, into upgrading temples and pagodas on Nghia Linh mountain, building a temple dedicated to Great Father Lac Long Quan and landscape around the temple.-VNA
The northern province of Phu Tho aims to work closely with relevant ministries and sectors to accelerate the national programme on preserving and promoting the Hung Kings’ worship-related culture.
Traditional rituals processing worship offerings were conducted from surrounding localities to the Hung Kings Relic Site in Phu Tho province on April 14 as part of the 2016 Hung Kings Temple Festival
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
