Long An (VNA) – A requiem for soldiers washeld in the southern province of Long An on February 5 on the occasion of theTet (Lunar New Year) festival.

The provincial cemetery is the resting place of nearly4,000 soldiers who laid down their lives for national liberation and defencethrough different periods of time.

The requiem aims to pay tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and defence whilepraying for favourable weather conditions and peace for the nation in the newyear.

It also offers a chance to review the country’shistory, honour national heroes and educate young generations about patriotism./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
