Reference exchange rate up 14 VND at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,178 VND/USD on March 14, up 14 VND from the last working day of previous week (March 11).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank ofVietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,178 VND/USDon March 14, up 14 VND from the last working day of previous week (March 11).

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, theceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,873 VND/USDand the floor rate 22,483 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercial banks alsowent up.

At 8:35 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rateat 22,710 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,020 VND/USD,both up 40 VND from March 111

BIDV raised both rates by 45 VND to  22,745 VND/USD (buying) and 23,025 VND/USD(selling).

During the week from March 7-11, the dailyreference exchange rate followed an upward trend in the first three days,turned around to drop on Thursday and stayed unchanged on Friday. It ended theweek up 5 VND from Monday./.
