Reference exchange rate remains unchanged

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,603 VND/USD on January 5, unchanged from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bankof Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,603VND/USD on January 5, unchanged from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-5%,the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 24,783VND/USD and the floor rate 22,423 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercialbanks continued to drop.

Vietcombank reduced both rates by 20VND, listing the buying rate at 23,330 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,680VND/USD.

Meanwhile, BIDV listed the buying rateat 23,375 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,655 VND/USD, both down 15 VND fromthe January 4./.

𒐪 Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
