Quang Tri (VNA) - The central province of Quang Tri has drawnseveral investment projects in hi-tech and organic agriculture recently, contributingto restructuring the agricultural sector toward creating clean products withhigh added values.
The provincial People’s Committee has allowed FAM, an agricultural production andexport joint stock company, to develop an agricultural production zone applyinghigh technology in Cam Lo district with a total investment of 371 billion VND(16.4 million USD).
The project is carried out from June 2018 to April 2019 on an area of 200hectares, produce clean and safe fruits such as dragon fruits, passion juiceand melons for both domestic sales and exports.
ISE Foods Inc., a major Japanese food processing company, is making investmentin cattle feed production and chicken raising farms in Trieu Phong and VinhLinh districts.
Sumitomo Group, also of Japan, is supporting the production of melons usinghigh technology in Gio Linh district.
The provincial People’s Committee and Dong Giao Foodstuff Export Joint StockCompany poured over 79.5 billion VND (3.5 million USD) into developing a pineapplecultivation area in Vinh Linh, Cam Lo and Dakrong districts in 2017-2020.
