QuangNinh (VNA) - Authorities of the northern coastal province ofQuang Ninh, home to world famous Ha Long Bay, on September 13 hosted a banquetfor participants of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN 2018).
WEF President Borge Brende delivereda speech at the event, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome.
For his part, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long notedQuang Ninh is continuously calling for domestic and foreign investment, expressinghis hope that investors attending WEF ASEAN will be interested in the locality.
Quang Ninh is committed to providing the best support to investors, he affirmed.
The province is promoting its potential and advantages, especially conservingand upholding the value of the World Natural Heritage - Ha Long Bay, as well asits historical and cultural relic sites and natural tourism destinations, towardsturning it into a tourist center of the world.
Long stressed that after the WEF ASEAN 2018, Quang Ninh will implement thecommitments of the Vietnamese Government, aiming to truly become a growth pole of Vietnam and attractmore investors.
Quang Ninh is located 130 km northeast of Hanoi. It is described as the mostimportant and vibrant trade gateway of Vietnam with China, and other ASEANmember nations. The locality is identified as a growth momentum of the north.
In recent years, Quang Ninh has mobilized resources to invest in threestrategic breakthroughs, focusing on modernizing socio-economic infrastructure;accelerating administrative reform and e-Government development; and improvingthe quality of human resources to meet the province’s development strategy.
As scheduled, WEF ASEAN 2018 delegates will visit Ha Long Bay on September 14as part of their activities in Quang Ninh.-VNA
