Quang Binh’s cave tourism campaign launched in Hanoi

Cave tourism of the central province of Quang Binh was launched in Hanoi on December 13, aiming to lure more visitors to the place dubbed “the Kingdom of Caves ”.

Recognised as aWorld’s Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO, the province’s Phong Nha – KeBang National Park is a karst area whose formation was evolved some 400million years ago. It includes over 300 caves of all sizes, notably SonDoong, Phong Nha, Tien Son, Thien Duong, En, Tot, Thach Thuy and Tu Lancaves.

Tours around caves in Phong Nha – Ke Bang,particularly those to Son Doong – the largest cave in the world, arebeing offered and attracting a huge number of domestic and foreignvisitors.

Quang Binh also boasts spectacularnatural landscapes with Nhat Le, Quang Phu, Bao Ninh and Da Nhaybeaches. It is home to Bang mineral hot spring, the only of its kind inVietnam with the temperature of outflow water at 105 degree Celsius.

Additionally, the commemorative house of lateGeneral Vo Nguyen Giap in Le Thuy district and his last resting place inBo Trach district are also remarkable destinations for people from allcorners of Vietnam .

The province this year hasso far welcomed 1.2 million domestic and foreign arrivals and expectsto receive 1.4 million tourists in 2014.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
