HCM City (VNA) – Public employees at thecommunal-level People’s Committees play an important role in realising Ho ChiMinh City’s socio-economic development plans, and as such need specialisedtraining to better do their duties and meet modern requirements amidst theFourth Industrial Revolution.

The remark was made by Chairman of the HCM CityPeople’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong at a meeting on January 29 with 322chairpersons of the administrations of wards, communes, and towns in the 24local districts.

He said that in 2019, HCM City will focusefforts on making administrative reform acceleration and implementing theNational Assembly’s Resolution No.54 on special mechanisms for the city beingpiloted.

Therefore, the administrations of wards,communes, and towns need to join hands with upper-level authorities in the work,as well as gauging people’s feedback and satisfaction to measure theirperformance, he noted.

However, numerous difficulties are predicted for2019, Phong added, asking local public employees to keep close contact with themass and consider public problems as their own so as to work more proactivelyand flexibly to ensure people’s rights and legitimate interests.

At the meeting, participants also suggestedinitiatives to help address the city’s problems and improve the servicesprovided for local residents. –VNA
