The Uni🐟ted Nations (UN) Office in Vietnam held the first online youthforum i𝔍n Hanoi on May 24 under the theme “Shaping Our Future”.

Theevent aimed to connect Vitenamese youths and offer a platform for them to sharetheir opinions about issues that youngsters are interested today.

UNResident Coordinator in Vietnam Kamal Malhotra said the forum was also one ofthe major activities to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the United Nations(1945-2020).

Hewent on to say that over the past 75 years, the UN has endevoured to address globalchallenges, from conflict crises to poverty reduction, climate change, and genderequality.

Affirmingthe goal of targeting all people, Malhotra said in January 2020, the UNput forth the initiative of organising a global dialogue namely the "UN75 Youth Forum". Theprogramme aims to approach as many people as possible, especially youngsters,he added.

Emphasisingthe impact of COVID-19 on the globe over the past time, the coordinator praisedVietnam as an outstanding model as the country has effectively responded to and supported othercountries in fighting the pandemic.

At theforum, Vietnamese youths contributed iniওtiatives and solutions in four keyissues, namely climate change and environment, social equa෴lity, power of music, andfuture creation.

These topics had been selected through previous online surveys,attracting more than 800 young people aged 16-26 across 59 provinces and citiesnationwide./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
