Project increases youth’s confidence in global integration

The UNESCO Centre for Culture and Education (UNESCO-CEP) launched the “Today’s Voice” project in Ho Chi Minh City on October 21, equipping young people with necessary skills to stay more confident while integrating into the world.

Albeit being dynamic andcreative, most of Vietnamese youngsters have not yet outlinedappropriate orientations to fully capture their potential and strengthsin global integration, especially when the ASEAN Economic Community(AEC) is formed in 2015.

UNESCO-CEP Director NguyenThi My Hanh said the project aims to raise the youth’s awareness of theAEC and provide them with essential skills and knowledge to enhancetheir competitiveness in the region and beyond.

Awide range of activities will be carried out as part of the project,including a workshop on “ASEAN dream mission”, which is expected to helparound 500,000 students get a glimpse of opportunities and challengesonce participating in the AEC.

A contest named “Yourchoice” will provide young people with an opportunity to practice theirskills at leading companies in the country.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
