Quang Binh(VNA) – Over 650 children with disabilities have had access to early detection,intervention and inclusive education services during a three-year project incentral Quang Binh province.

These children, whoare at kindergarten and primary school ages, were helped to integrate into societyand unblock their potentials, according to a workshop to review the results ofthe project “Early Identification and Inclusive Education for Children withDisabilities in Quang Binh province” in the locality on June 27.

The project wascarried out in nine communes of Le Thuy and Quang Trach districts and Dong Hoicity under the joint effort of Switzerland-based Caritas and the provincialPeople’s Committee.

Launched inSeptember 2014, the project has achieved positive results in all threecomponents – healthcare, education and community’s awareness improvement.

It has not onlygiven rehabilitation equipment, wheelchairs, and hearing aids to children withdisabilities but also provided training for medical workers and teachers.

The project’smanagement board took the occasion to honour six organisations for theircontributions to the project.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
