Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a project onpassenger transport quality supervision and safe traffic.

The project’sobjective, set for 2025, is to equip 80 percent of key bus stations, highwaystops, railway stations, inland waterway ports and airports with modern facilitiesand connected tourist locations.

All highways and expressways willbe operated and managed by smart applications so as to gradually wipe outhotspots of traffic accidents.

The project will includeinvestment in building new tourism bus stations, seaports, airports and railwayroutes in localities which have great potential for tourism.

All means oftourist transport for roads and inland waterways must have equipment that meetsservice quality and technical safety regulations.

The projectwill also target investment in developing vehicles for tourists using advanced,eco-friendly and energy-saving technologies.

One of the tasks of the projectis to invest in building and improving transport infrastructure facilities toensure traffic safety and support tourism.

The project will invest in theNorth-South Expressway, Thap Cham – Da Lat railway route, and waterway routesto tourist islands of Co To, Cat Ba and Phu Quoc.

The project will have measures toensure transportation costs are reasonable and consistent with the quality ofservices, as well as to apply policies on ticket prices and smart ticketingforms. It will promote the provision of trip information and transport supportservices such as apps to find routes or transport fares to create favourableconditions for tourists.-VNS/VNA
