Hanoi (VNA) – An art programme to honour “Ao dai” (traditionaldress) will take place at the Centre for Women and Development in Tay Hodistrict, Hanoi on October 18.
The event will bring together artistsfrom the Vietnam National DramaTheatre, who will show “Ao Dai” collections by designer Do Trinh HoaiNam, and other designers.
It will spotlight Hanoi in the past with designs on flowers and old patterns; andnational quintessence with designs on lotus and craft villages; among others.
The event aims to arouse pride, loveand responsibility for preserving the value of “Ao dai” heritage; and promotingthe image of traditional dress, culture, country and people of Vietnam./.
The design inspired by the image of ‘Ao dai’ (Vietnamese traditional long gown) – one of the country’s cultural symbols - has been selected for Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The first Vietnamese Children’s “Ao Dai” Festival, themed “Back to the roots,” was held in Viet Tri, the capital of northern Phu Tho province on September 4, along side with the final round of a contest entitled “Vietnamese Children’s Ao Dai Ambassador 2022.”
An exhibition highlighting 200 sets of Ao dai (traditional long dress) presented by 20 famous Vietnamese and foreign designers are underway at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi.
