Prime Minister’s Tet gifts granted to outstanding OVs

Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi, who is also Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (OV) Affairs, presentedPrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s Tet gifts and greeting letters to 11 outstandingoverseas Vietnamese within the framework of the “Homeland Spring”programme on February 5.

In his Lunar New Year greeting letter, the Government leaderstressed that as the COVID-19 pandemic has been seriously affecting thewhole world, Vietnam remains a safe destination for all Vietnamese people living andworking abroad.

PM Phuc welcomed OVs returning home to welcome the Lunar New Year– the biggest traditional festival in a year of Vietnamese people.

He wished all of them a new year of good health, happinessand success.

Homeland Spring is an annual programme held for overseasVietnamese to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) since 2008. Thisyear, due to the pandemic, the programme featured only one show withoutthe attendance of audiences on February 4 night./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
