Prime Minister visits old school on Vietnam Teachers’ Day
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited his old high school, the Da Phuc Senior High School in Hanoi’s suburban district of Soc Son, on November 20 on the occasion of the 36th Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982-November 20, 2018).

Hanoi (VNA) – PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited his old high school, the Da Phuc Senior HighSchool in Hanoi’s suburban district of Soc Son, on November 20 on the occasionof the 36th Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982-November 20,2018).
Addressing a celebration held atthe school, Prime Minister Phuc recalled memories of the days he studied at theschool.
“From the bottom of my heart, I amalways proud of the beloved Da Phuc school, and grateful for the teachers whohave dedicated themselves to nurturing the personality, aspirations andmorality for generations of students, including me,” he said
The PM emphasized that Da Phucschool has nurtured the dreams and talents of not only young generations in SocSon district, but also many children who moved from southern provinces to thenorth after the signing of the Geneva agreement.
On behalf of such children, PMPhuc expressed gratitude to people in the north and teachers and friends whohad created all favourable conditions and given support to southern children.
He expressed joy at theachievements made by Da Phuc school, which is the top school in Soc Sondistrict.
The Government leader stressedthat the world is changing fast, and in the digital area, knowledge andinnovation are the key factors that decide each nation’s strength,competitiveness and position.
In the context, Vietnam isstriving to carry out comprehensive reform of education, he said, urging DaPhuc school, together with all schools nationwide, to work unceasingly toimprove teaching and learning quality.
“Students should be put at thecentre of education,” PM Phuc said, asking the school to adopt modern teachingand learning methods, and build a friendly, safe and healthy educationalenvironment for students.
He also advised the students to cultivatetheir patriotism and national pride, while striving to study well so that theycan be successful in life and contribute to national development.-VNA
