Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a working session withthe Ministry of Defence’s General Department II on January 21, lauding themilitary intelligence unit’s staff for accomplishing assigned tasks.
The sessionwas also attended by Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s ArmySen. Lieut. Gen Phan Van Giang.
Speaking atthe event, the PM said that over the past 73 years, military intelligenceofficials and soldiers have remained loyal to the Party, the nation, andpeople, contributing to national construction and defence.
They haveoffered timely and effective consultation to the Party, State, Central MilitaryCommission, and Ministry of Defence to firmly safeguard national sovereigntyand interests, creating an environment of peace which has aided nationaldevelopment, he said.
In order tofulfil the tasks for 2019 and subsequent years, the PM asked the department’sstaff to continue upholding the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers; seriously abideby the Party and State’s principles and directions; renew its apparatus in anefficient and streamlined manner; and put forward a trusted political andfighting force which is absolutely loyal to the Party, State, army and people.
On theoccasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the PM sent his bestwishes to the staff and their families.
