The participation is made at the invitation of the Cambodian Prime Minister SamdechTecho Hun Sen and WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab.
The WEF-ASEAN2017 is themed “Youth, Technology and Growth: Securing ASEAN’s Digital andDemographic Dividends”.
It will focus on assessing ASEAN’s development andintegration and problems the bloc will face in the time ahead. Other issues onthe agenda are ASEAN’s position in the new global geopolitical and economiccontext, the prospect of the ASEAN Economic Community, and impacts of theFourth Industrial Revolution on ASEAN countries.
Vietnam and theWEF began their cooperative relationship in 1989. Since then, the WEF has becomean important dialogue forum between Vietnamese Government leaders and theworld’s leading enterprises.
There are 11Vietnamese businesses which are members of the WEF, including military-runtelecommunications group Viettel, FPT Corporation, VinGroup, VinaCapital, theVietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the Join Stock CommercialBank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), and Saigon Invest Group.-VNA
