Prime Minister directs provision of seeds to flood-hit provinces

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to provide seeds free of charge to four central provinces hard hit by flood this year, to help the localities restore agricultural production.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has instructed the Ministryof Agriculture and Rural Development to provide seeds free of charge to fourcentral provinces hard hit by flood this year, to help the localities restoreagricultural production.

Specifically,Quang Tri province will receive 1,000 tonnes of rice seeds and 80 tonnes ofmaize seeds.

Quang Binhprovince will be given 640 tonnes of rice seeds and 120 tonnes of maize seeds.

Ha Tinh willreceive 500 tonnes of rice seeds and 100 tonnes of maize seeds, and Thanh Hoa 200tonnes of rice seeds, and 200 tonnes of maize seeds.

The ministrywill also provide each of the provinces with 10 tonnes of vegetable seeds.

Successivefloods and storms hit the central region in October and November, causingserious losses in human lives and properties to the region./.
