Hanoi (VNA) – President Vo Van Thuong,his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on November 26for a four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese State.
This is the first visit to Japan by President Thuongand the fourth trip to the East Asian country by Vietnamese Presidentssince the two countries established diplomatic ties 50 years ago.
President Thuong and his spouse are accompanied byDeputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of the Presidential Office LeKhanh Hai, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister of TransportNguyen Van Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defence Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, among others.
This year marks the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Japandiplomatic relations and the 9th anniversary of the upgrade of the bilateralrelationship to an extensive strategic partnership./.

The upcoming official visit to Japan by President Vo Van Thuong, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam from November 27-30 will contribute to further deepening political, diplomatic, economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang has said.
The Institute for Northeast Asian Studies (INAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences on November 24 held a national seminar highlighting achievements, issues and potential of the institute’s studies on relations between Vietnam and Northeast Asian nations.
The coming visit to Japan by President Vo Van Thuong and his wife conveys the message that the cooperation between Japan and Vietnam is not only a bilateral relationship but also contributes to the peace and prosperity of the region and the world, said Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio.
