Da Nang (VNA) - President Tran Dai Quang hasreassured Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong that Vietnam alwaysencourages Singaporean companies to invest in the country.

At a meeting on the sidelines of ongoing APEC EconomicLeaders’ Meeting in central Da Nang city on November 10, the two leaders sharedtheir delight at the progress of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership,especially after President Quang’s visit to Singapore in August 2016 and PM Lee’strip to Vietnam in March 2017.

They also agreed to coordinate closely in preparingcelebrations for the 45th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties.

PM Lee urged Vietnam to back Singapore as the ASEAN Chairnext year and create more favourable conditions for Singaporean enterprises andinvestors to do business effectively in Vietnam.

The two leaders spoke highly of the strong development ofpeople-to-people exchanges and cooperation in culture and education between Vietnamand Singapore.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issuesof mutual concern and agreed to maintain ASEAN’s central role in addressingstrategic issues relating to their security and interests and the region.-VNA
