Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuccongratulated retired teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day(November 20) during a meeting with members of the Veteran Teacher Associationof Vietnam (VTAV) in Hanoi on November 15.

President Phuc highlighted the significance ofthe Vietnamese Teachers’ Day as an opportunity toexpress respect and gratitude to teachers who have been making great contributions to human resources development of the country. It is also a great festival of teachers andstudents nationwide as Vietnam has a tradition of studiousness and respect forteachers, he said.

Founded in July 2004, the VTAV isa socio-professional organisation of former teachers and education managementofficials who have retired or changed careers. It has so far grouped 600,000members across the country.

💮 On the occasion, the Presidentasked the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) to continue supporting theVTAV’s activities. He also assigned the MoET, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to consider proposals made by the VTAV’s suggestions./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
