Hanoi (VNA) - Aposter contest to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution(August 19) and National Day (September 2) is now open for entries.

Launched by the Department ofGrassroots Culture under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, thecontest aims to promote citizens’ understanding of the context, processand causes of the victory and lessons drawn from the August Revolution andthe birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam),in addition to affirming their historical significance.

It is also expected to raiseawareness about the creative application of such lessons in the strugglefor national unification, particularly in national renewal and internationalintegration.

In terms of topics, the entriesshould feature the great achievements of the Vietnamese Party and peopleover 75 years of building, defending and developing the nation.

The contest is open to allprofessional or amateur painters, Vietnamese citizens and overseas Vietnamese.Each contestant can submit more than one work, which must be painted recentlyand been neither submitted to other competition nor disseminated in anyform.

The organisers will judge andpresent prizes for outstanding works, including one first prize, two secondprizes, three third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and one special prize fororganisations.

In addition to the winningposters, the organising committee will select a number of good works to displayat an exhibition and use them for festivals, anniversaries or forappropriate political duties nationwide.

The contest will close forsubmissions on June 22, 2020. Its closing and award ceremonies arescheduled to take place in September 2020.

The organising committee will presentone first, two second, three third, and 10 consolation prizes. One movementprize will also be bestowed on the unit with the most participants andhigh-quality works./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
