Poor children given free milk

The Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) on June 25 received thegift, which is part of the TH Group-sponsored programme to bring warmfeelings to poor children in northwestern provinces.

Under the programme, which runs from May to early July, TH Group,which is renowned for TH True Milk brand, will offer 1 million glassesof milk to local children.

According to VRC VicePresident Doan Van Thai, the programme has helped improve the physicalfitness of Vietnamese children, especially those in remote areas.

Thai said his association pledges to forward the significant gift to those in need as soon as possible.

Earlier, the group coordinated with the Bac A Bank to present 15,000glasses of milk and learning tools to poor students at 10 schools in HoaBinh and Son La provinces.

It also joined handswith the Nong Thon Ngay Nay (Countryside Today) Newspaper and severalcharitable associations in Hanoi to offer 170 boxes of milk, 3,000notebooks and 30 gifts to children and households hardest hit by arecent flood in northern mountainous Lao Cai province.

In addition, TH Group has organised a wide range of charitableactivities to support underprivileged children and studentsnationwide, including providing free milk for malnourished children inthe Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and children at somehospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City .

It has also financed surgery for more than 100 kids with congenital heart diseases.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
