Hanoi (VNA) – The police force plays apivotal role in ensuring economic security, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucsaid at a conference in Hanoi on May 25.

The event was held by the Ministry of PublicSecurity to review the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.12-CT/TW onenhancing the Party’s leadership in the field.

The PM directed the police force to create asignificant change in the awareness of all sectors about the importance ofensuring economic security in the current situation.

The verification of economic projects onsecurity protection is the task of the public security sector, he said,requesting not to make difficulties for businesses and investors.

He asked the police to seriously implement theParty and State’s policies and guidelines on developing socialist-orientedmarket economy and ensuring economic security.

It is necessary to clearly define responsibilityof heads of ministries, departments and localities in the sphere in addition toharmonising socio-economic development, global economic integration, andeconomic security, he said.

The PM requested the police force to proactivelyname threats to the economy and promptly devise effective measures to copewith.

He also ordered measures to protect the macroeconomy, curb inflation, and support enterprises, as well as improve businessenvironment and national competitiveness.

Minister of Public Security To Lam said thepolice force is aware of their missions and responsibilities to ensure economicsecurity.

He underlined this as a primary condition tocreate safe and favourable environment for startups, rapid and sustainabledevelopment of the economy, boosting industrialisation, modernisation,and international economic integration.-VNA
