Police arrest suspect in murder of five in HCM City

Policearrested a young man on February 16 who is suspected in the killing of fivemembers of a family in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Tan district and robbed theirhouse.

The bodies of the couple and their threechildren were discovered in their home on February 15.

Nguyen Huu Tinh of An Giang province wasarrested in Long An province, next to the city.

Tinh, born in 2000, was a metalworker in afactory owned by the deceased family.

After allegedly killing them, he stole anumber of items from their home, including a motorbike, and fled.

The HCM City Police said the murder was aresult of a conflict between the suspect and the family.

The victims’ bodies were found by a shipperwho had come to the house.

The police said they are investigatingexpeditiously.

On February 16, Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc sent a letter of appreciation to all agencies involved in the case, inrecognition of their prompt investigation.

In the letter to the Ministry of PublicSecurity, HCM City People’s Committee, and HCM City Police, the Prime Ministerpraised the quick investigation, saying that their actions contributed to thefight against crime and the protection of citizens’ lives. - VNA
