Ninh Binh (VNA) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 28 inspected some key socio-economic establishments and infrastructure projects in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
He toured the vegetable processing facility of the Dong Giao Foodstuff Export JSC (Doveco) in Tam Diep city and met with the company's management and workers. Established in 1955, Doveco now focuses on processing vegetables and fruits with an annual capacity of 136,000 tonnes at its three factories in Ninh Binh, the northern mountainous province of Son La and the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai. The company has also developed four main raw material growing areas covering over 25,000 hectares.
At the meeting, the PM described Doveco as a successful and effective model of transformation from a state-owned farm to a joint-stock company. This success underscores the correctness of the Party's policies and the State’s laws, he stressed.
The Government leader urged the company to continue building its brand, diversifying products, supply chains and markets, and enlarging raw material areas through regional linkages. He also recommended investments in science and technology, innovation, development in a green and circular manner, and better welfare and social security for workers.
The government is focusing on implementing three strategic breakthroughs to create favourable mechanisms, seamless infrastructure, and smart governance to facilitate the development of businesses like Doveco, Chinh stated.

Inspecting the local east-west road project and presenting gifts to the construction units, the PM highlighted that this is the largest inter-regional transport project ever in the province, which will create new development spaces for Ninh Binh.
The leader requested the units to maintain progress control, enhance project quality, ensure environmental sanitation, and take care of the livelihoods of those affected by the project. He also urged Ninh Binh and surrounding provinces to study the construction of connecting routes to the road to boost socio-economic and tourism connectivity.
The road, being over 22.9 km long, passes through the local districts of Kim Son, Yen Mo, Tam Diep, and Nho Quan and links to the North-South Expressway's eastern section. The project, with a total investment of more than 1.9 trillion VND (76 million USD) funded by the central and provincial budgets, covers more than 189 ha of land and affects 991 households, including 136 that require relocation. It is scheduled to be carried out from 2022 to 2026.
To date, the project has completed all land clearance and most major components. It is expected to be fully completed and operational by the end of 2024, shortening the construction timeline by approximately two years./.
