PM requests ensuring conditions for children, students in ethnic-inhabited areas

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 20 signed a dispatch requesting efforts to ensure food, accommodation, living and learning conditions for preschool children and boarding and semi-boarding students in mountainous and ethnic-inhabited areas.

Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 20 signeda dispatch requesting efforts to ensure food, accommodation, living andlearning conditions for preschool children and boarding and semi-boardingstudents in mountainous and ethnic-inhabited areas.

Over the past years, the Government and thePrime Minister have issued mechanisms, policies, programmes, and projectsregarding this issue.

However, the implementation in some placesis not good, affecting the living and learning conditions of preschool childrenand students in these areas, the dispatch noted.

The Government leader asked the Ministry ofEducation and Training to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies andPeople's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct and reviewthe organisation and implementation of meals for preschool children and boardingand semi-boarding students in mountainous and ethnic-inhabited areas, and theimplementation of other policies for them; and strictly handle collectives andindividuals if there are violations.

Attention must be paid to strengtheningdirection, management, and inspection over the implementation of policies onethnic education, ensuring food hygiene and safety, school safety, accident andinjury prevention, and fire prevention in educational institutions.

The PM requested the strict implementationof regulations on financial and asset management, the purchase of educationequipment, and teachers’ ethics.

The Government Committee for Ethnic MinorityAffairs was asked to effectively uses resources under the National TargetProgramme for socio-economic development in mountainous and ethnic-inhabitedareas in the 2021 - 2030 period for education to ensure 100% of the schools andclassrooms in extremely difficult communes and villages are solidly built./.
