PM meets Danish, UK energy groups’ representatives on COP28 sidelines

Dubai (VNA)💧 – Prime Minister PhamMinh Chinh met representatives from the Copenhagen Infrastructure Partner(CIP) and the Enteprize Energy Group (EE) – two of the leading energy groups ofDenmark and the UK respectively - in Dubai on December 3, on the sidelines of the28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28).

Associate Partner at CIP Robert Helms and EE Chairman Ian Hatton informed the Vietnamese Prime Minister of their offshore wind power and renewable energy projects, calling on theGovernment of Vietnam to direct agencies and localities to cooperate to promotetheir investment projects in Vietnam. They also proposed some projects withcooperation potential, saying that the groups are willing to support Vietnam toimplement the resource-mobilising plan in the Just Energy TransitionPartnership (JETP) and the country’s plan on net-zero emission by 2050. PM Chinh spoke highly of the groups'effective business activities, including offshore wind power developmentprojects in Vietnam. He said CIP and EE have experience and capacityin the field of renewable energy, especially offshore wind power and newenergy, which is very suitable for Vietnam's policies and developmentpotential. Chinh said that since COP26, Vietnam hascomprehensively implemented measures to implement its commitments, adding that in thecoming time, Vietnam will focus on promoting the completion of strategicinfrastructure, green energy transition, renewable energy, and digitaltransformation towards realising the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 anddeveloping a green, sustainable economy. He asked the energy groups to coordinateclosely with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and localities to effectivelyimplement their projects in Vietnam. He said he hopes that the two groups will continue toshare experiences and support Vietnam in training human resources, improvingmechanisms and policies, management capacity, research, and technologyapplication to promote the development of renewable energy and energytransition. Vietnam is committed to creating favourableconditions for foreign investors in general and CIP and EE in particular for long-term business in Vietnam, PM Chinh said./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
