PM launches nationwide emulation movement for 2021-2025
A nationwide emulation movement with the theme “Solidarity, creativity, and emulation to build and safeguard the Fatherland” was launched for the 2021-2025 period by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 10.

Hanoi (VNA) - Anationwide emulation movement with the theme “Solidarity, creativity, andemulation to build and safeguard the Fatherland” was launched for the 2021-2025period by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 10.
The PM, also the Chairman of the CentralEmulation and Rewards Council, launched the drive at the 10th NationalPatriotic Emulation Congress, which officially opened in Hanoi on the morningof December 10.
Attended by 2,300 delegates from around thecountry, the congress shared the view that patriotic emulation movements andreward activities have been reformed and become more practical and effectiveover the last five years.
Emulation campaigns have developed intensivelyand extensively, creating important momentum for the successful performance ofpolitical and socio-economic development tasks in the entire country as well asat every agency, organisation, and unit. Such achievements serve as the basisfor the country to take firm steps towards the goal of growing a wealthy andstrong, democratic, equal, and civilised nation, according to the Governmentleader.
He especially highlighted the enormouscontributions by forces involved in fighting COVID-19 and responding to naturaldisasters, adding that compatriotism and comradeship have become even stronger amidtrying times.
As the global and regional situation is forecastto remain complex and unpredictable and there remain many difficulties andchallenges in the country, the PM noted that this requires the entire Party,people, and army to continue enhancing solidarity and consensus, reformingstrongly, showing dynamism and creativity, and exerting the utmost effort toachieve socio-economic development targets for 2021-2025 and the developmentstrategy for 2021-2030.
He called for patriotism, self-reliance, andaspirations for a prosperous and happy country to be encouraged.
Launching the nationwide emulation movement forthe next five years, the PM called for emulation in building and perfectinginstitutions for sustainable development in all aspects; developing science -technology and innovation; improving people’s material and spiritual lives; supportingdefence, security, external affairs, and international integration; andbuilding an incorruptible, strong, lean, efficient, and effective Party, State,and political system.
He also requested the continuation of existing emulationcampaigns, including four key campaigns: “The whole nation joins in efforts tobuild new-style rural areas”, “The whole nation joins hands for the poor -Leaving no one behind”, “Vietnamese businesses integrate and develop”, and“Cadres, civil servants, and public employees emulate the execution ofworkplace norms”./.
The 10th National Patriotic Emulation Congress is scheduled to take place at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on December 9-10 with the participation of 2,300 delegates.
In 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic is causing serious impacts on all countries around the world, Vietnam’s patriotic emulation movements on COVID-19 prevention and control have proved effective, contributing to putting the pandemic under control.
