PM: Government backs Vietnamese-Japanese locality cooperation

TheVietnamese Government has always paid due at𒊎tention to and promoted cooperationbetwe⭕en Vietnamese localities and Japanese counterparts, including Hyogoprefecture, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.


While hosting a delegation fromHyogo prefecture led by its Governor Toshizo Ido in Hanoi on October 31, PMPhuc applauded the delegation’s visit as the Vietnam-Japan strategicpartnership is thriving and the two nations are celebrating the 45th founding anniversaryof diplomatic ties.

In reply, Ido said that thisis the third time he has visited Vietnam and he was happy to witness positivechanges in the country’s infrastructure systems.

He informed the PM thatduring its visit, the delegation will work with many Vietnamese localities,particularly Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Nam province, in order to promote tradeand investment cooperative relations.

Some 70 companies of Hyogo areinvesting in Vietnam, while many other small- and medium-sized enterprises fromthe prefecture are looking to do business in the country, he added.

Ido expressed his beliefthat a large number of Vietnamese currently living in Hyogo prefecture wouldwork as a bridge to foster its cooperative ties with Vietnamese provinces andcities.

The governor said Hyogo alsowants to enhance human resources cooperation with Vietnam, and voiced his hopethat Vietnamese students will enrol in the upcoming international businesscourses in the prefecture.

PM Phuc lauded Ido’s proposalsand expected that Hyogo prefecture will bolster collaboration with Vietnameselocalities in the fields where it boasts strengths and Vietnam has demands.

The Vietnamese Governmentwill create optimal conditions for Japanese businesses to invest in thecountry, he promised.

The PM suggested the prefecturejoin hands with Vietnam in personnel training and create favourable conditionsfor Vietnamese students to join the prefecture’s business courses.

He also asked Hyogo toincrease people-to-people exchanges with Vietnamese provinces and cities toenhance mutual understanding, along with opening direct air routes to boosttourism cooperation.

Hyogo prefecture hascooperative ties with five Vietnamese lo🧸calities, namely Ho Chi Minh City, Dong𒁃Nai, Long An, Can Tho and Ha Nam provinces. It is home to the sixth largestnumber of Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Japan.

The prefecture is known for itsmanufacturing industry, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, as well as heavyindustries such as shipbuilding, power and machinery production, marineshipping, foodstuff, garments-textiles and jewellery.-VNA
