Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reprimanded Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai as a disciplinary measure for his violations in the case regarding MobiFone’s purchase of 95 percent of the shares of AVG Audiovisual JSC.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reprimandedDeputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai as adisciplinary measure for his violations in the case regarding MobiFone’spurchase of 95 percent of the shares of AVG Audiovisual JSC.

Earlier, under a decision issued on July 3by the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, Hai, who is member ofthe ministry’s Party Committee, was also disciplined.

According to the Inspection Commission, hewas partially responsible for violations and wrongdoings committed by theministry’s Party Committee during the 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 tenures.

Hai violated the principle of democratic centralismand working regulations and was irresponsible and lax in leadership,management, inspection and monitoring, letting MobiFone commit serious violationsin implementing the project.

He also signed several documents relating tothe project with contents against the legal regulation.-VNA
