Tokyo (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucarrived at Narita International Airport in Tokyo on October 22 morning,beginning a trip to attend the coronation ceremony of Japanese EmperorNaruhito.

Representatives of the Japanese Ministry ofForeign Affairs and Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam welcomed the PMat the airport.

More than 400 guests who are heads of states andsenior leaders of more than 190 countries and international organisations areexpected to attend the coronation ceremony on October 22 afternoon.

Crown Prince Naruhito ascended the throne as the126th Emperor of Japan on May 1, starting the Reiwa era.

PM Phuc’s participation in the coronationceremony demonstrates Vietnam’s respect for the extensive strategic partnershipwith Japan – a leading economic partner, the biggest ODA supplier, the secondbiggest investor and the fourth largest trade partner of Vietnam.

During the visit to Japan, PM Phuc is set tohave several bilateral meetings./.
