Plastics exports to surpass 2 bln USD

Export earnings in 2012 reached 1.98 billionUSD, an increase of 42.2 percent over 2011. Of the figure, plasticproducts accounted for 1.58 billion USD and plastic materials for 397million USD.

Japan has been Vietnam's largestmarket for plastic goods for five years in a row, with the highestexport growth in 2012 - which was 24 percent up from the previous year.

The country's plastic sector strives to become anadvanced industry, producing highly competitive and environmentallyfriendly products of various types to meet the demands of the domesticmarket and increase the quantity of value added goods for export.

By 2020, the industry plans to shift its structure to reduce theproduction of plastics for households and packaging and increase thosefor building materials and technology.-VNA

Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
