Phuong triumphs in race for peace

This is the second time in a row thatPhuong has taken the top title, beating national teammates Pham Thi Hienfrom Thai Binh and Nguyen Thi Dong of Hanoi after three laps.

Inthe men's division, Bui The Anh, from the Border Guard team, edged outHanoian Dang Hai Duong and Le Trong Giang of Thanh Hoa in the 8.5kmevent.

The hosts managed to win the team event, beating both the Border Guard and Thanh Hoa teams.

Lamphay Phanpadit from Laos came first in the foreign men's division, ahead of Russian Anton and Khasbashbat Zoyabat.

Mel Hamada, Hazel Alcesthr and Nicole Biddle from the United Nations International School dominated the women's division.

Therace, which drew around 2,000 runners, is part of larger celebrationsof the 57th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation on October 10th.

Part of the money raised via the race will be donated to the Fund for the Poor./.
