Photos highlight Vietnam-Algeria diplomatic ties

A photo exhibitionhighlighting the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Algeria over the past55 years were showcased in Hanoi on October 30.

The event was jointly held by the Embassy ofAlgeria in Vietnam, the Vietnam-Algeria Friendship Association, and theUniversity of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Mohamed Berrahsaid the two countries established diplomatic ties in October 1962. AfterAlgeria gained independence in 1962, Vietnam opened its embassy in Algercapital. Over the past half century, the bilateral relations have beendeveloping across the board, including politics.

The two nations share a common vision on internationalrelations built on peace, stability and security while settling disputes viapeaceful means without intervening internal affairs and using forces inaddition to respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity andsupporting national self-determination, he added.

He noted that the two sides have cooperativerelations in various fields. The economic partnership has a lot of prospects,notably the joint oil and gas mining projects in Algeria. 

The Ambassador said he was impressed by Vietnam’sachievements and efforts in diversifying the economy, attracting foreigninvestment, and integrating into global trade.

Vietnam’s integration will continue to bereinforced given increasing free trade agreements, he added.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
