Kiev (VNA) –
A photo exhibition onVietnamese land and people is being held in Ukraine from June 5-8 to strengthenthe friendship between the two countries.

The event is part of the Vietnamese Culture Yearin the East European nation.

Addressing the opening ceremony in Kiev on June5, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan said the exhibition aims tointroduce the achievements that Vietnam gained in the cause of nationalbuilding and development and promote Vietnam as a dynamic country.

It also highlights milestones in the friendshipbetween Vietnam and Ukraine, he added.

President of the Ukraine-Vietnam FriendshipParliamentarians Group Oksana Yurinets said through the more than 100 photosdisplayed at the exhibition, Ukrainian visitors have better understanding aboutVietnamese land and people and the sound relations between the two countries.

She said the exhibition, along with the upcomingVietnam Day event in Lvov on June 21, will help promote bilateral rapport.

Vietnam and Ukraine established diplomatic tiesin 1992. Trade is a top priority in the comprehensive partnership between thetwo nations. Last year, two-way trade was worth 355.5 million USD, a 34.5percent increase from 2016.-VNA
