Photo competition focuses on Cao Lanh Bridge

Hanoi (VNA) - Cao Lanh Bridge in the Mekong Delta province of DongThap is the theme of a photo competition launched by the Australian Embassy in Vietnamon April 10.

The competition is open to everyone who wants to share snaps of the bridge andhighlight the positive impact of the bridge on the Mekong Delta.

Cao Lanh Bridge was built by Australia’s largest single development aidinvestment in mainland Southeast Asia.

Contestants can submit up to three photos related to the Cao Lanh Bridge.

The photos can be of the bridge itself or capture the impact the bridge has hadon the region.

“Cao Lanh Bridge is a crucial driver for development for the Mekong Deltaregion and an enduring symbol of the friendship between Australia and Vietnam,’said Australian Ambassador Craig Chittick.

“I hope this competition will be an opportunity for all participants to telltheir stories about the bridge and show their talent and creativity.”

Since its opening in May 2018, Cao Lanh Bridge has helped reduce travel time inthe delta, opening up new trade opportunities for Vietnamese agriculturalproducts, promoting private investment, supporting food security and improvingaccess of local people to social and health services.

The competition winner will receive a Canon EOS 80D camera valued at 25,000,000VND (1,000 USD) and the second and third prizes are an iPad 2018, valued at 9,000,000VND, and a shopping voucher valued at 5,000,000 VND, respectively.

The most liked photo on Australia in Vietnam Facebook page will also receive ashopping voucher valued at 5,000,000 VND.

Five honourary mentions will each receive a set of IELTS English languagebooks, a kangaroo-designed helmet and a certificate of appreciation.

The competition winners will be announced in the last week of May on theFacebook page. - VNA
