An art programme was held in Hanoi on June 5 to mark the 76th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948-2024).

Role models in patriotic emulation movements and the outstanding citizens of Hanoi in 2023 were honoured at a conference held on October 9 in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

President Vo Van Thuong on June 14 met with 140 role models in the fight against drug crime nationwide and representatives of families of the 28 persons falling down in the fight.

“Emulation is patriotic, those that are patriotic must emulate. And those who emulate are the most patriotic ones”, President Ho Chi Minh made the call for patriotic emulation 75 years ago.

Seventy-five years have passed but the appeal for patriotic emulation made by President Ho Chi Minh on June 11, 1948 - when the country was fighting to defeat French colonialism - has inspired patriotism and promoted national solidarity among Vietnamese nationals with a view to protecting and developing the nation.

When the resistance war against the French had lasted about 1,000 days, on June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation. Seventy years have passed, but the appeal remains valuable even in peacetime.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 10 launched an emulation movement in building a learning society and strengthening life-long learning in the 2021-2030 period.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) held a ceremony in Hanoi on June 4 to honour the role models in patriotic emulation movements, an activity in celebration of 75 years since then President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also Chairman of the Central Emulation and Rewards Council, presided over a meeting in Hanoi on November 30 to look into the preparations for the 10th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

The 8th patriotic emulation congress of the banking sector, for 2020-2025, took place in Hanoi on November 28 with the participation of National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the justice sector to better its emulation and commendation affairs to ensure that patriotic emulation is truly a motive for its staff to complete their assigned political missions.

Various activities were held nationwide to mark the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh who devoted his whole life for Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and national reunification.
