Passengers going through Vietnamese airports exceed 100 million

Vietnamese airports are estimated to serve 106 million passengers and handle nearly 1.5 million tonnes of cargo during 2018, up 12.9 percent and 7.7 percent year-on-year respectively, reported the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnameseairports are estimated to serve 106 million passengers and handle nearly 1.5million tonnes of cargo during 2018, up 12.9 percent and 7.7 percentyear-on-year respectively, reported the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam(CAAV).

Vietnamese airlines transported more than 50 million passengers and nearly400,000 tonnes of goods, representing respective increases of 14 percent and 26percent compared to the previous year.

At present, the Vietnamese aviation market sees the participation of 68 foreignairlines from 25 countries and territories and four local carriers namelyVietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific Airlines and Vasco.

The 68 foreign and three Vietnamese carriers, including Vietnam Airlines,Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, are operating nearly 130 internationalroutes linking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and HaiPhong with 28 countries and territories around the world.

Meanwhile, the four local airlines are running 48 domestic routes from Hanoi,Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City to 18 local airports.

In 2017, local airports served over 94 million passengers, up 16 percent overthe previous year. Meanwhile, they saw 661,165 flights taking off and landingduring the year, a rise of 10 percent year-on-year. –VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
