Hanoi (VNA) – Headof the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission Truong Thi Mai hosteda reception in Hanoi on January 15 for the President of the Vietnam Committee for Catholic Solidarity (VCCS),Priest Tran Xuan Manh.
Mai, who is also a Politburo memberand secretary of the Party Central Committee, lauded the VCCS’s contributionsto the national patriotism movement over the past four decades, saying that ithas supported the Party and State’s policies and guidelines and actively joinedcampaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
She said ties between theState and the Catholic community have been growing via practical activities,contributing to the national development.
Manh, for his part, pledgedto continue urging Catholic dignitaries and followers to make furthercontributions to the national development, towards the goal of wealthy people,strong country with democracy, fairness and civilisation./.
