Dong Nai (VNA) - Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretaryof the Party Central Committee and head of the Committee’s Commission for MassMobilisation, wished Catholics in the Diocese of Xuan Loc in the southernprovince of  Dong Nai a merry Christmas during a visit to the diocese's bishop office on December 20.

Hoai stated the Communist Party of Vietnam, since itsformation, has always paid attention to the religious communities and issued manypolices to ensure people’s freedom of religion and beliefs.

The Party’ leadership and the contributions ofpeople from all walks of life, including Catholics, have helped to enhance thenation’s prestige and position over the years, she added.

She praised local Catholics for their donations to the nationalCOVID-19 vaccine fund and of thousands of tonnes of food in support of peoplein quarantine areas.

Hoai hoped in time to come, Catholic dignitaries andfollowers in Dong Nai will continue to comply with the policies and law of theParty and State and actively engage in patriotic campaigns initiated by thecentral and local authorities.

Informing the official on the local Catholics’ serious complianceto pandemic prevention measures and contributions to the fight against COVID-19,Bishop Do Van Ngan expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Party and Statetoward the Xuan Loc Diocese, which he hoped to be sustained in the future./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
