Party official attends great national unity festival in Yen Bai

Yen Bai (VNA) – Politburo member and permanent memberof the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong attended a ceremonyin the northern province of Yen Bai on November 15 to announce the recognitionof Tan Hop commune as a new-style rural area and launch the festival of greatnational unity 2021.

The event was to mark the 91st anniversary of Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18).

Speaking at the event, Thuong hailed effortsof residents in Yen Bai and those in Tan Hop commune, Van Yen district, inparticular for building on the past achievements and the great national unity,effectively following the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, thus improvingtheir lives.

He said via editions of the great nationalunity festival, Vietnam’s solidarity tradition has been increasingly upheld andpassed on to future generations, especially young people.

On the back of great national unity, thecountry became the first worker-peasant State in Southeast Asia, defeated twopowerful invaders, healed the wounds of war, and performed useful tasks to growfurther, he added.

He suggested that the province should exertgreater efforts to effectively fight the pandemic while promoting socio-economic development in the near future.

On the occasion, he also visited stallsdisplaying specialties of Tan Hꦇop commune and Van Ye꧙n district, and joined culturalactivities and played local folk games./.
